Daniel Dvoress was born in the Soviet Union on July 12, 1988, and moved to Toronto with his family at the age of eight. He discovered poker in high school, started in home games, then moved into online poker in 2006 while also completing college before turning professional.
Online, Dvoress became known as “
Oxota”. One of his early breakthrough results came in 2014, when he won a PokerStars
SCOOP title for around $400,000. That online pedigree carried into the live arena, where Dvoress became one of the most consistent Canadian high roller performers of the last decade.
His signature live victory came in November 2019 at Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas. Dvoress beat a 51 entry field in the $250,000 buy in event at Baha Mar and won $4,080,000, at the time the largest score of his career.
Dvoress added his
first WSOP bracelet in 2020, winning the $1,500 Millionaire Maker during the WSOP Online series on
GGPoker. The event drew 6,299 entries and paid Dvoress $1,489,289.
His second bracelet came at WSOP Europe in 2023, where he won the €25,000 GGMillion€ High Roller at King’s Resort Rozvadov. It is reported that he beat 89 entries and earned €600,000.
In late 2024, Dvoress recorded his biggest career cash to date by finishing fourth in the $500,000 Triton Million at WSOP Paradise for $4,390,000.
That result helped push his tracked live tournament earnings past $50 million.
