If your stack allows it, that can create opportunities to apply pressure. If you are short-stacked, however, simply folding until the bubble bursts is not always correct. You still need enough chips to survive the next blind levels.
Pay Attention to the Prize
A freeroll paying 100 small cash prizes should not necessarily be played in the same way as a satellite awarding ten identical tickets.
In a satellite, surviving can become more important than accumulating every available chip once qualification is close. In a normal cash tournament, the value of finishing first remains much greater than simply scraping into the prizes.
