Juha Helppi leads the final 14 players into Day 3 of Event #64: $25,000 High Roller PLO/NLH Mixed at the 2026 WSOP. Daniel Negreanu advanced as a short stack, while all 41 maximum late registrants were eliminated.
Day 2 of Event #64: $25,000 High Roller PLO/NLH Mixed at the 2026 World Series of Poker delivered an action-packed schedule. The day featured an intense battle between Hold’em and Omaha professionals, the bursting of the money bubble, a flurry of maximum late registrations, and numerous coolers.
The tournament saw a massive influx of players before registration officially closed. The 60 players who successfully bagged chips on Day 1 quickly expanded to a total field of 134 entries, more than doubling the starting lineup as late registration remained open for the first two levels of Day 2.
Among those entries, 41 players chose to register at the latest possible opportunity. These players took their seats with a starting stack of just 18 big blinds to begin their campaign. However, the strategy did not yield long-term success.
Critics of the maximum late registration strategy will note that none of the 41 late entrants managed to survive the day.
Every single one of the remaining 14 players who advanced to Day 3 had bought into the tournament prior to the final deadline.
Juha Helppi emerged as the pacesetter at the conclusion of Day 2. Helppi bagged up the overall chip lead with 6,370,000 chips. When play resumes tomorrow for the third and final day, his stack will be worth 127 big blinds.
