The WPT Australia 2026 festival has been officially confirmed, bringing an unprecedented three weeks of elite tournament poker to The Star Sydney from September 10 through September 30. 

By introducing a massive dual-championship format to the Australian market, the World Poker Tour is ensuring that both touring professionals and local value hunters have a massive reason to hit the felt this spring.

The 2026 iteration of the festival is breaking new ground by offering two massive, globally televised championship events in the same month.

The action is headlined by the AUD $1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship, running from September 17 to 22. This event is perfectly positioned to capture a massive field of regional players looking for a major tour experience. 

Immediately following the Prime event, the stakes are raised for the AUD $5,000 WPT Australia Championship (September 24-30). This flagship tournament brings the traditional, deep-stacked, slow-structured WPT Main Tour experience to Sydney, complete with a globally broadcasted final table and a massive first-place prize
