Deerfoot Summer Super Stack 2026 at Deerfoot Inn & Casino Calgary August 5-16. Western Canada's premier live poker festival.
Calgary's biggest poker party is back. Deerfoot Summer Super Stack 2026 runs August 5–16 at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino, and if the 2025 edition is anything to go by, it's shaping up to be the must-play summer festival for Canadian poker players.

Last year's series delivered 17 trophy events, a C$428,000+ prize pool in the flagship Superstack Championship alone, and one of the more memorable individual performances the festival has seen. In 2026, the formula stays the same: deep structures, player-friendly buy-ins, and a schedule built for every type of poker player.

Deerfoot Summer Super Stack Schedule Built for Everyone

One thing Deerfoot does better than most regional festivals is variety, offering NLH, Omaha, Mixed Games, popular Team Event and more.

The 2025 schedule featured 17 events across nearly every format a tournament player could want:
  • Deepstack NLH
  • Megastack
  • Progressive Knockout
  • 6-Max Championship
  • Seniors Championship (50+)
  • Team Event
  • Pot-Limit Omaha
  • Mixed NLH/PLO
  • H.O.R.S.E.
  • Double Board Bomb Pot PLO
While No-Limit Hold'em remained the backbone, PLO specialists and mixed-game players had dedicated spots on the Summer Super Stack schedule. Expect 2026 to follow a similar blueprint.

From C$230 Buy-Ins to C$428K Prize Pools

One of the Deerfoot Summer Super Stack's biggest strengths is accessibility. The 2025 buy-in range covered nearly every bankroll level:
CategoryBuy-In Range
Entry-levelC$205 – C$300
Mid-stakesC$500 – C$900
Championship eventsC$1,350 – C$1,500
You can build a full week of poker here without needing a nosebleed bankroll. That's part of why the series consistently draws a mix of recreational players and serious grinders under the same roof.

Deep Structures Promises Deep Runs

If you've played too many turbo-heavy regional events where the structure falls apart by Level 8, Deerfoot is a different experience. The headline events are built for real poker:
EventStarting StackBlind Levels
Deepstack25,00030 min
Megastack30,00040 min
Superstack Championship40,00040–60 min
Expect deep stacks and plenty of post-flop play throughout the schedule. This is the kind of structure that rewards actual poker rather than pre-flop  shove-fests.

Deerfoot Summer Super Stack Main Event: Superstack Championship

Everything builds toward the C$1,500 Superstack Championship. In 2025, the event drew 334 entries and generated a prize pool exceeding C$428,000, making it one of Alberta's biggest recurring poker tournaments. Chase Bonertz captured the title last year.

For most players making the trip to Calgary, the Superstack is the name circled on the schedule before anything else gets looked at.

Will WSOP Regular Pei ‘Jerry’ Li Return to Deerfoot?

The standout story from 2025 belonged to recent WSOPC Ring winner Pei Li, who won two headline events, taking down both the C$1,000 6-Max Championship and the C$560 Megastack title back-to-back.

Two trophies in one series is a feat that tends to follow a player's reputation around. The question heading into 2026 is simple: can anyone match that kind of run, or will Pei Li return and remind everyone why he owned the 2025 festival?

One Of The Top Festivals In Canadian Live Poker Calendar

Deerfoot Summer Super Stack has quietly built one of the stronger reputations on the Canadian live poker calendar. It's not flashy. It doesn't oversell itself. It just consistently delivers deep structures, strong prize pools, and a schedule that gives every type of player a reason to show up.

For Western Canadian players, it's already a summer tradition. For everyone else, the 2026 edition, running August 5–16 at Deerfoot Inn & Casino, is a strong reason to book a flight to Calgary.
The full 2026 schedule is expected to be announced closer to the festival.
