WSOP Super Circuit Canada: Mario Lemieux Leads Main Event Into Day 3
- Mario Lemieux tops Day 2C; 13 Canadians in top 20 stacks.

The CA$5,000 WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event completed its staggered opening phase on September 6, with Canadian Mario Lemieux emerging from Day 2C with 1.8 million chips and the overall lead among the top stacks verified through the three Day 2 sessions.
Lemieux heads a heavily Canadian leaderboard going into Monday's Day 3 at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec. Denis Cyr finished Day 2C with 1.6 million, while another Canadian player shown by WSOP LIVE as Chitsanupong Prathu... bagged 1.5 million.
Sunday also produced another Canadian ring winner. Scott Carragher defeated Ryan Pignatelli heads-up in Event #8, the CA$2,000 Deepstack Turbo, collecting CA$100,000.
Meanwhile, the Main Event has officially smashed its CA$10 million guarantee. The tournament attracted 2,844 entries for a CA$13,082,400 prize pool, setting up a huge final stretch at Playground.
Mario Lemieux Leads Day 2C With 1.8 Million
Flight C survivors returned at 11 a.m. Sunday for the final staggered Day 2 session.
Lemieux finished on top with 1.8 million, but Canada dominated the leaderboard immediately behind him.
Cyr, who had advanced from Flight C with 407,000, increased his stack almost fourfold to 1.6 million. The Canadian player whose name is truncated as "Chitsanupong Prathu..." in the supplied WSOP LIVE result finished third with 1.5 million.

Daniel Haim remains one of the most interesting names in contention. The Mini Main Event champion already has a CA$185,000 victory at this festival and now carries 1.2 million into Day 3. Mike Leah, Guillaume Nolet, Rayan Chamas, Griffin Benger and several other prominent Canadians have also advanced.
Daniel Negreanu is another confirmed Day 3 qualifier with 535,000. PokerOrg also reported Michael Mizrachi advancing with 523,000.
Main Event Smashes CA$10 Million Guarantee
Late registration has now closed with 2,844 entries, generating a final prize pool of CA$13,082,400.
That puts the tournament CA$3,082,400 above its enormous guarantee.
Flight A alone attracted 851 entries, while Flight C generated another 830. The size of the Main Event adds another record-setting chapter to a festival that had already produced a 3,484-entry Mini Main Event.
Scott Carragher Wins Deepstack Turbo for CA$100,000
Sunday also crowned the festival's eighth ring-event champion.
Canadian Scott Carragher won the CA$2,000 Deepstack Turbo and collected CA$100,000, defeating fellow Canadian Ryan Pignatelli heads-up.

Canada swept the podium and occupied eight of the top 12 positions displayed in the WSOP LIVE results.
Carragher had already cashed earlier in the festival, finishing 11th in the Super Circuit Kickoff for CA$3,187. WSOP's official results confirm that earlier result.
Day 3 and Three New Ring Events Arrive Monday
Main Event Day 3 begins at 11 a.m. on September 7, finally bringing together survivors from all three qualification paths.
Monday also launches Event #9, the CA$1,000 PLO Bounty with CA$100,000 guaranteed, Event #10, the CA$14,000 GGMillion$ High Roller with CA$1 million guaranteed, and Flight A of the CA$600 Ultra Stack with CA$250,000 guaranteed.
The Main Event is the clear centrepiece. With CA$13,082,400 at stake and Canadians holding 13 of the verified top 20 stacks, the home contingent enters Day 3 in an exceptionally strong position.
