Negreanu Makes Third WSOP Online Final Table But Misses Bracelet

Daniel Negreanu reached his third WSOP Online final table in five days but was unable to convert another deep run into a bracelet victory.

The eight-time WSOP bracelet winner finished sixth in the $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO at GGPoker, collecting $43,641 plus about $15,000 in bounties. The result continued a week of final-table appearances for Negreanu, who is still seeking his first online WSOP bracelet.

Negreanu entered the final session fourth in chips with eight players remaining. He held 35 big blinds, while Israel's Yigal Papi led the field with 134 big blinds. The tournament attracted 378 entries.

Negreanu began the final table positively after picking up pocket aces against Markus Ristola.

Ristola developed a large draw on the turn but failed to improve on the river, resulting in his elimination in seventh place. He earned $33,074.

Negreanu later found pocket aces again, but the second encounter produced a different outcome. Anatoly Zlotnikov also held two aces among his four hole cards and completed a flush to win the pot. The loss returned Negreanu to roughly the same position from which he had started the final table. His run ended against Blaz Zerjav.

Negreanu made two pair, but Zerjav had flopped a set. The hand cost Negreanu the remainder of his stack and ended his attempt to capture another WSOP bracelet. Sixth place was worth $43,641, in addition to approximately $15,000 in bounty payments.

The $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO marked Negreanu's third WSOP Online final table in just five days.

Despite making three deep runs during that period, none resulted in a bracelet.

His strongest opportunity among the three came in the $25,000 High Roller Championship, a No-Limit Hold'em event. Negreanu reached the final five before losing a major all-in pot against the chip leader.

The latest PLO result gave him another chance to pursue a ninth career bracelet. Negreanu won his eighth WSOP bracelet during the summer in a PLO event and was attempting to become the 10th player to reach at least nine bracelets.

A ninth title would place him among a group that includes Phil Hellmuth, Shaun Deeb and Benny Glaser.

Negreanu was also pursuing his first WSOP bracelet won online.

Negreanu has been livestreaming his WSOP Online bracelet attempts on GGPoker while visiting Vancouver, Canada.

The three final-table appearances have given him multiple opportunities during the current stretch, but the $5,000 High Roller Bounty PLO became the latest event to end before a title.

At the time the tournament report was published, Papi continued to hold a sizable chip lead. The eventual winner was set to receive $132,297 plus bounties and the WSOP bracelet.

For Negreanu, the sixth-place finish completed another deep WSOP Online run without adding to his eight career bracelets.
