WSOP Super Circuit Canada: Hunter Rosling Leads Main Event Day 1A
- Hunter Rosling leads Main Event Day 1A with 622,500 chips.

The WSOP Super Circuit Canada entered its biggest phase on September 3 as the CA$5,000 Main Event finally got underway at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec.
American Hunter Rosling emerged with the largest stack shown in the official WSOP LIVE Day 1A results, finishing the opening session with 622,500 chips. Canadians dominated the positions immediately behind him, with Jeffrey Cormier bagging 520,000 and Eun Park finishing with 490,000.
The opening flight came on another significant day for the inaugural Canadian Super Circuit. WSOP confirmed the complete list of champions from the first six ring events, while Daniel Negreanu helped officially launch a Main Event carrying an unprecedented CA$10 million guarantee.
Hunter Rosling Leads Main Event Day 1A
Day 1A of Event #7 began at noon with players receiving 50,000 starting chips.
Rosling turned that starting stack into 622,500, putting the American at the top of the WSOP LIVE leaderboard supplied to CanadianPoker.com.
Canada was extremely well represented immediately behind him.
Jeffrey Cormier finished second with 520,000, while Eun Park bagged 490,000. Pawan Braich followed in fifth overall with 470,500.
Seven Canadians appeared among the top 12 stacks shown in the official results.

The Canadian flag shown by WSOP LIVE has been retained for the players above rather than attempting to independently infer nationality or residency.
One particularly familiar name is Daniel Haim. He already won the CA$500 Mini Main earlier in the festival for CA$185,000 after overcoming the record 3,484-entry field. Haim has now carried that form into the Main Event, advancing from Day 1A with 396,000.
Negreanu Helps Launch Historic Main Event
Daniel Negreanu was given the honour of delivering the ceremonial "Shuffle Up and Deal" as the Main Event began.
The Canadian Poker Hall of Famer was joined by WSOP broadcaster Jeff Platt and Playground officials for the start of Flight A.
Negreanu had already been active at Playground through the GGPoker Meet-Up Game, where Michael Mizrachi, Jonathan Little and Dan Cates were among the other recognizable names taking part.
His involvement added another high-profile element to what is already the largest tournament on the inaugural Super Circuit schedule.
The CA$5,000 Main Event carries a CA$10 million guarantee, the largest guarantee ever attached to a live poker tournament in Canada.
Paul Meiners Becomes First Non-Canadian Ring Winner
September 3 also brought official confirmation of the result from Event #6.
American Paul Meiners won the CA$1,000 Progressive Bounty for CA$51,000, becoming the first non-Canadian to win a ring during the festival.
His victory ended an extraordinary five-event run for the home contingent.

WSOP also confirmed that each ring winner receives a WSOP Paradise package including entry to the US$2,750 Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty and accommodation at Baha Mar.
Super Circuit Closing in on Canadian Record
The size of the festival was already historic before the Main Event began.
WSOP reported that approximately CA$5.78 million in prize pools had been generated through the opening events. The Mini Main alone attracted 3,484 entries, smashing Playground's previous single-tournament attendance record of 1,978.
With another CA$10 million guaranteed in the Main Event, WSOP said the festival was on course to surpass the existing Canadian record of approximately CA$15.54 million in total prize money generated by a poker series.
The Main Event will ultimately do considerably better than merely reaching its guarantee, but those final numbers were not known on September 3 and therefore do not belong in a day-specific recap of the action available at that point.
What Happens on September 4?
Day 1A survivors do not have long to wait.
Day 2A begins at 11 a.m. on September 4, with Rosling, Cormier, Park, Braich, Haim and the other qualifiers returning to Playground.
At noon, Main Event Flight B begins, bringing another fresh group into the CA$5,000 tournament.
That unusual staggered structure means Day 2A and a new starting flight will be running simultaneously.
After Canada's remarkable domination of the opening ring events, Day 1A suggests the home contingent could also play a major role in the tournament that matters most.
Rosling may hold the early lead, but Canadian players occupy much of the leaderboard directly behind him as the CA$10 million Main Event moves into its second day.
