Canadian Poker Stars Shine In WSOP Las Vegas

For Canadian poker fans, the summer had a few especially satisfying storylines. Daniel Negreanu added another WSOP bracelet in the $100,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha, pushing his total to eight and collecting more than $2.2 million in the process.

Kristen Foxen also delivered another elite result by winning the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em, while Alex Foxen added his own bracelet in the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. Even though the Foxens are best known globally, their success still hits especially hard for Canadian poker audiences watching one of the game’s strongest power couples continue to stack titles.

Michael Mizrachi also added to the summer’s headline moments by winning the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship for his ninth WSOP bracelet and a $1.35 million payday. That result helped underline how deep and competitive the summer was from top to bottom.

What Comes Next

The Main Event still has one final act left, with the champion set to be decided when the final table returns to Las Vegas from August 3 to 5. That finish is always a major poker moment, and this year it will once again play out live on ESPN.

But the WSOP calendar does not really end there. The new $1 million Global Player of the Year race keeps the series connected across WSOP Europe, the Las Vegas summer events, and WSOP Paradise later in the year.

The next big destination is WSOP Paradise at Baha Mar in The Bahamas from December 1 to 17, 2026, where the first global POY winner will be crowned. And before that, the WSOP Circuit keeps the brand active, including a Las Vegas stop from July 14 to 25, so the post-summer stretch is less of a pause and more of a handoff to the next phase.
