WSOP Super Circuit Canada: Haim Hits 1.2M as Laberge Leads Flight B
- Daniel Haim and Samuel Laberge lead Canadian charge in WSOP Super Circuit Main Event.
- Haim finishes Day 2A with 1.2M chips; Laberge tops Flight B with 744K.
- Multiple Canadians in top spots; final starting flight (Flight C) begins next.
Canadian players continued to make their presence felt in the WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event on September 4, with Daniel Haim building another huge stack and Samuel Laberge emerging as the Flight B chip leader at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec.
The CA$5,000 Main Event entered an unusual double-session phase Friday. Day 1A survivors returned for Day 2A at 11 a.m., while a completely new group entered Flight B one hour later.
By the end of the action, American Nicholas Maimone led the Day 2A survivors with 1.3 million chips, but Canadians occupied much of the leaderboard behind him. Haim finished second with 1.2 million, while Guillaume Nolet, Mike Leah, Rayan Chamas and Pascal Lefrancois all built substantial stacks.
In Flight B, Canada went one better. Samuel Laberge finished with 744,000, comfortably the largest stack shown in the official WSOP LIVE results.
Nicholas Maimone Leads Day 2A, Daniel Haim Close Behind
Maimone, who entered Day 2A after finishing fourth in Flight A with 478,500, converted his strong starting position into the overall Day 2A lead.
He finished the session with 1.3 million. But Haim was right behind him. The Canadian bagged 1.2 million, continuing an outstanding WSOP Super Circuit Canada festival in which he has already won Event #2, the CA$500 Mini Main Event, for CA$185,000.
The official WSOP LIVE leaderboard supplied to CanadianPoker.com showed five Canadians among the top eight Day 2A stacks.

The screenshot also shows another Canadian, Guoyan Li, immediately below the top 10 with 700,000, although the lower portion of his row is partially obscured.
For Haim, the result is particularly notable. He began Day 1A with the same 50,000-chip starting stack as everyone else and finished the opening flight with 396,000. One session later, he had more than tripled that total to 1.2 million.
Canadian Stars Build Big Day 2A Stacks
Haim was far from Canada's only established player making progress.
Guillaume Nolet finished with 993,000, while Mike Leah bagged 900,000. Rayan Chamas advanced with 825,000 and Pascal Lefrancois finished with 793,000.
Those four players alone give Canada considerable high-level experience heading deeper into the tournament.

Samuel Laberge Dominates Flight B Leaderboard
While the Day 1A qualifiers were battling through Day 2A, Flight B began at noon with another fresh field receiving 50,000 starting chips.
This time a Canadian finished clearly on top.
Samuel Laberge bagged 744,000, putting significant distance between himself and second-placed Djilali Dahou of France, who finished with 473,000.

Laberge's 744,000 is also an enormous increase from the 50,000 starting stack, giving him almost 15 times his original chips after the opening flight.
Griffin Benger and Frederic Normand Advance
There are several familiar Canadian names deeper in the Flight B leaderboard.
Griffin Benger, one of Canada's most recognizable tournament professionals, advanced with 331,000. Frederic Normand finished just ahead of him with 333,000.
Normand has already made one major run during the festival, finishing ninth in the CA$2,300 Canadian Championship for CA$26,000.
Ryan Mceathron and Feizal Satchu also finished inside Flight B's top four, with 468,500 and 466,000 respectively.
What Happens on September 5?
The Main Event follows the same staggered format Saturday.
Flight B survivors return for Day 2B at 11 a.m., meaning Laberge will begin the next stage as the flight's chip leader.
At noon, the third and final starting flight, Flight C, gets underway.

Flight C represents the final opportunity to enter the CA$5,000 Main Event before its opening phase concludes.
The tournament still carries its enormous CA$10 million guarantee, and the complete field size and final prize pool will only become clear once registration across the remaining structure closes.
After September 4, however, Canada is already positioned prominently.
Haim has 1.2 million after another exceptional day, Nolet and Leah are closing in on seven figures, and Laberge will carry the Flight B chip lead into Day 2B.
The Main Event is still a long way from deciding its champion, but Canada's early grip on the inaugural WSOP Super Circuit at Playground is showing few signs of disappearing.
