  • Weekend turbo (C$400) & deepstack (C$600) events every Sat/Sun until mid-October.
  • Generous chip stacks & unlimited re-entry; in-person registration only.
  • Poker Room open despite labour disruptions; Ontario’s top tournament venue.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto has laid out its weekend poker tournament schedule for the rest of September and into October, giving Ontario players a steady run of turbo and deepstack events at the GTA's flagship poker room.

Every event runs at the casino formerly known as Casino Woodbine, located on Rexdale Boulevard in Etobicoke.

All tournaments in the schedule start at 10 AM.

The Schedule

The format alternates by day of the week, giving players a lower buy-in turbo option on Saturdays and a bigger deepstack event on Sundays.

Date Event Buy-In
Saturday, September 19, 2026 Turbo No Limit Hold'em C$400
Sunday, September 20, 2026 Deepstack No Limit Hold'em C$600
Saturday, September 26, 2026 Turbo No Limit Hold'em C$400
Sunday, September 27, 2026 Deepstack No Limit Hold'em C$600
Saturday, October 3, 2026 Turbo No Limit Hold'em C$400
Sunday, October 4, 2026 Deepstack No Limit Hold'em C$600
Saturday, October 10, 2026 Turbo No Limit Hold'em C$400
Sunday, October 11, 2026 Deepstack No Limit Hold'em C$600

The C$400 Turbo events give players a 20,000-chip starting stack, while the C$600 Deepstack tournaments start players with 30,000 chips.

At registration, everyone can add a C$10 dealer add-on for an extra 5,000 chips.

Structure and Field Size

Field size depends on the buy-in level. Because the C$400 Turbo falls under the C$500 threshold, those events play 10-handed with up to 100 tickets available.

The C$600 Deepstack sits above that threshold, so it plays 9-handed with a 90-ticket cap.

Great Canadian's rules state that the final table begins once 10 players remain across all of these tournaments, regardless of the starting table size.

Every event on the schedule allows unlimited re-entry for as long as registration stays open and seats remain, with re-entry costing the same as the original buy-in.

Registration Details

Registration opens 24 hours before each tournament and stays open until the start of Level 13 on the day of play.

Players must register in person and pay in cash, and everyone needs a Great Canadian Rewards card to enter, along with valid government-issued photo ID.

Out-of-province visitors and guests under 30 should bring a secondary piece of government ID, since health cards are not accepted at registration.

An alternate list opens at 9 AM on tournament day for anyone without a seat and live chips in play, seated on a first-come, first-served basis once pre-registered players have been placed and any eliminations have occurred.

Getting to the Room

Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto remains open 24 hours a day, and the casino, hotel and restaurants are running as usual.

The property flagged that its ongoing labour disruption may affect some entrances and cause traffic delays around the building, so players heading to a Saturday or Sunday tournament should budget extra travel time.

The Poker Room itself continues to operate at Great Canadian Toronto, unlike sister property Pickering Casino Resort, where the poker room has been temporarily closed during the same labour dispute.

Great Canadian Toronto has built a reputation as Ontario's main destination for tournament poker in recent years, having hosted the WSOP Circuit in partnership with GGPoker since 2024.

That track record gives these weekend turbo and deepstack events a bigger stage than a typical local series, offering regulars and visiting players another reason to grind at the Toronto tables between now and mid-October.

Refund requests are only honoured if made at least 24 hours before a tournament's start time, and the casino's tournament director has final say on any ruling during play.

Players must be 19 or older to take part, and Great Canadian Entertainment notes that schedules and terms are subject to change at its discretion.
