Everything is bigger in Texas, and the WSOP Circuit is no exception, after a record-breaking 2,090-entry field $1,700 Main Event generated a massive prize pool, busting the initial $2M guarantee by over a million.

The total prize pool landed at $3,166,350, and it was Texas local Eric 'Slick Ric' Chang who took home the top payout of $433,670 and the gold ring.

Slick Ric had to outmaneuver a stacked field that included reigning WSOP Main Event world champion Lucas Jumalon. Taking down a career-best score is sweet enough, but pulling it off on Texas home turf makes it even sweeter.

Jumalon Final Day Blazing Run Falls Flat

Lucas Jumalon looked ready to steal the show on Day 3. Carrying the momentum of his WSOP 2026 Main Event win in Vegas, the new world champ bagged the runaway chip lead with 18 players left.

However, the back-to-back Main Event glory never manifested. Jumalon ran cold during the final day, losing key pots until his tournament ended in 14th place for $19,030.

That opened the door for Slick Ric to take full control. With relentless attacks like a Texas rattlesnake, he cleared the remaining players out of his way until only Anil Jivani was left standing between him and a career-best payday. Rest is history.
