Rayan Chamas Leads WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event After Huge September 7

September 7 produced one of the busiest days yet at the WSOP Super Circuit Canada, with four ring events in action at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec. Rayan Chamas emerged at the top of the displayed Main Event standings, Daniel Tsipris captured the Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty title, and Canadian players also dominated the early leaderboards in the GGMillion$ High Roller and Ultra Stack.

The action came during the marquee stretch of Canada's first WSOP Super Circuit, which runs through September 12. The official schedule confirms that September 7 featured Main Event Day 3 alongside the CA$1,000 PLO Bounty, CA$14,000 GGMillion$ High Roller and opening flight of the CA$600 Ultra Stack.

For Canadian poker fans, there was plenty to celebrate.

The biggest development came in the CA$5,000 WSOP Super Circuit Main Event, where Canadian pro Rayan Chamas climbed to the top of the latest displayed standings.

Chamas was shown with 5,200,000 chips, well clear of American William Givens on 4,000,000. Another Canadian, Jonathan Bussieres, occupied third place with 3,400,000.

The Canadian presence extended throughout the top ten. Franco Tucci held 3,000,000, Christopher Marquis had 2,500,000 and Marco Sousa also had 2,500,000.

September 7 also produced another Canadian ring winner.

Daniel Tsipris won Event #9, the CA$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty, for CA$47,600, defeating fellow Canadian Jonathan Brazeau heads-up.

Canada swept the entire top five. Dan Vigderhaus finished third for CA$20,640, Evan Sparling collected CA$14,140 for fourth and Sharaf Albardhiuthi earned CA$9,950 in fifth.

Tsipris' victory continues a remarkable Canadian run at Playground. Canadians had already won the opening Kickoff, Mini Main Event, Mystery Bounty, Canadian Championship and Monster Stack PLO earlier in the festival.

The CA$14,000 GGMillion$ High Roller also began September 7, carrying a CA$1 million guarantee.

Canadian Julien Cargnelutti topped the supplied standings with 398,000, followed closely by Elliot Smith with 382,000.

Eight of the top 12 displayed players represented Canada

Canada also finished September 7 on top of the CA$600 Ultra Stack Flight A leaderboard.

Ian Monahoyios accumulated approximately 1,100,000 chips, ahead of Joel Kogan with 951,000 and Furkan Kezel with 905,000.

The action continues September 8 with Main Event Day 4, the next stage of the GGMillion$ High Roller and two additional Ultra Stack starting flights.

There is also new high-stakes action, with the CA$25,000 Super High Roller scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

After a September 7 that saw Chamas surge to the top of the displayed Main Event counts, Tsipris win another ring for Canada and Canadians occupy the majority of the leading positions in two more events, the home contingent remains firmly at the centre of the action at Playground.
