As it stands today, Players Only is only compatible with Windows operating systems. If you are on a Mac or a Linux, you can only use software like this if you have a PC emulator program installed. For a while now, there have been rumors that the Cake network has either a Mac-compatible software package or a no-download version of their poker software in the works, but only time will tell if these plans will come to fruition. Compatibility issues aside, this poker room is dedicated to giving you a good product and trust us, they haven't missed the mark.
The software should run on any Windows 2000/XP or later operating systems as long as you have at least 366 MHz worth of processing power, 256 MB of RAM, and 40 MB of hard drive space to spare. For a better playing experience, it is recommended that your processor is rated at 500+ MHz and that you have 512 MB of RAM. Also note that, while dial-up connections are sufficient, the rule of thumb is that faster connections are typically better in every way.
Once you have completed the software installation, it's time to create your player account and start playing. While registering, be sure to enter OPGOLD into the form as your bonus code. Players Only has a really nice set of graphics. You can either view the full 3D avatars/tables, or choose to view the 2D format in an effort to conserve computer resources. If you have a decent Internet connection, either style should work well. Multi-table play is supported and you can view/play up to eight games at any given time. Even with all of these games running at the same time, you can expect a nice, fast rate of play. The average should be somewhere around sixty or seventy hands per hour.
The lobby setup at Players Only Poker will leave you wanting for nothing. It has a classic design that makes it easy to find the right games and then distinguish between them based on stats like average pot size, hands per hour, and overall flop percentage. If you take even a moment to browse through these stats, you can dramatically increase your odds by only choosing the softest tables around. Once you get used to this arrangement, you won't ever be able to play poker anywhere other than Players Only again. There are also some smaller features that would be easy to overlook but add a ton to the overall package. Items like the button in the lower right hand corner (that takes you to the recent news and offers running at Players Only) help to give you the most comfortable experience possible.
