Canada's Kristen Foxen and husband Alex Foxen advanced to Day 2 of WSOP Event 19, the $25,000 High Roller. Yaman Nakdali leads the field after eliminating Martin Kabrhel, while defending champion Chang Lee was among those eliminated on Day 1b.
The 2026 World Series of Poker continued its high-stakes action at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, where Day 1b of Event #19: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em drew a field of 167 entries. By the end of the flight, only 53 players successfully secured their chips for Friday's Day 2.
These survivors will combine with the 25 players who previously advanced from Day 1a to form the next phase of the tournament line-up.
Among those booking a ticket to the second day of play is Canada's Kristen Foxen. She qualified for Day 2 after bagging up a stack of 348,000 chips, placing her 30th in the overall chip counts.
In a notable twist for the field, her husband and fellow poker professional, Alex Foxen, is also grinding in the exact same tournament. Alex Foxen sits in a strong position heading into Friday, holding the 12th highest chip stack overall.
The tournament leaderboards at the end of Day 1b were topped by Yaman Nakdali, who accumulated a massive stack of 1,996,000 chips. Nakdali established dominance early on, regularly pressuring his table and finding crucial spots to chip away at his opponents.
Jon Vallinas finished the session closely behind the leader, locking up 1,285,000 chips for the next round. Ihar Soika secured the third spot on the flight's podium by bagging 1,254,000 chips.
Michael Moncek also found success on Day 1b, concluding the evening with 531,000 chips. Moncek entered the field following the final break of the night and managed to spin his stack up to nearly triple the starting amount.
Several notable players failed to survive the Day 1b flight. Defending champion Chang Lee returned to the field with only a few levels remaining in the evening, aiming to secure his second career WSOP title.
Lee won this exact $25,000 High Roller event in 2025, defeating a 392-player field in what was his first ever WSOP tournament. While he navigated through multiple full levels of play, Lee was unable to find a path to Day 2.
Chris Hunichen was also added to the list of players who failed to advance. Lander Lijo suffered a particularly brutal exit midway through the day when he five-bet jammed with pocket queens directly into the pocket kings of Yulian Bogdanov.
Ethan Yau joined them on the rail after his big slick failed to pull ahead of the pocket jacks held by Neil Warren. The remaining field will now look ahead to Friday as the surviving players unite to battle for the bracelet.
