South Korea's resort island has become one of the most important stops on the global poker calendar, and the 2026 edition of the Triton Super High Roller Series is already delivering the kind of action the tour is known for. For Canadian poker fans, the early results are well worth celebrating.

Kristen Foxen picked up a $70,000 score after running 17th in Event #3, the $30,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed tournament. With 172 players entering and a combined prize pool of $5,160,000 on the line, it was a field stacked with talent from the first hand to the last. Getting paid in that company is never routine, no matter what the finishing position reads.

China's Chen Mingcong collected the trophy and $1,143,000 after navigating a final table that offered no easy paths. Triton marked the occasion with characteristic flair, calling it the arrival of a new star on the high-roller scene. It was a worthy winner and a worthy stage.

Reading the Result the Right Way

Leaderboards can be deceiving. Scroll past the top ten at any Triton event and the names you find are not recreational players riding good fortune.

The fields at this buy-in level are dense with professionals who treat these tournaments as their primary source of income, study the game year-round, and have the financial backing to play their best regardless of variance.

Foxen navigating past the majority of that field is a result worth noting with respect rather than brushing aside because a trophy was not involved.

Her track record at Triton events reflects something more durable than a hot streak. It reflects a player who has structured her game to compete at the top end of the sport consistently, across different formats, locations, and field compositions. That kind of reliability matters enormously in a circuit where most players never cash at all.

Canada's Dvoress Closes the Deal in $100K Short Deck

While Foxen was building her deep run in Event #3, fellow Canadian Daniel Dvoress was writing his own headline elsewhere in the schedule. Dvoress captured the $100,000 Short Deck event in Jeju, beating Jason Koon in a heads-up finish to earn $1,380,000.

Taking down one of the most recognisable names in high-roller poker to claim a Triton title is a career moment by any measure.

The two results together frame a broader truth about Canadian poker right now. From Foxen's consistent cashes to Dvoress sealing wins at six-figure buy-ins, Canada is not a supporting cast on the world stage. It is a central part of the story.

The Biggest Test of Triton Jeju 2026 Is Still Ahead

The $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event is next on the Triton Jeju schedule, with the final table set for the 26th

Context helps here: the 2025 version of that same event attracted 285 entries and produced a $28,500,000 prize pool, at the time the largest field ever assembled for a six-figure buy-in tournament. This year's edition arrives with similar expectations and, potentially, with Foxen still in the building and in form.

Whether or not she takes a seat at that table, her Jeju 2026 trip has already been a success. And with Dvoress already holding a title from this stop, the Canadian contingent heads into the back half of the series with momentum firmly on its side.
