Ben Tollerene captured his second Triton Main Event title in Jeju, earning $3,766,000. The Texan pro outlasted a star-studded final table where Kristen Foxen also secured a career-best $1.4 million payday, further cementing her legendary status in high-stakes poker.
Career-best scores defined the atmosphere this Thursday as Ben Tollerene captured his second Triton Main Event trophy. The Texan pro navigated a formidable field in the $100K NLH Main Event at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, walking away with a massive $3,766,000 prize.
With this victory, Tollerene’s live tournament earnings have climbed past the $36 million mark. He successfully fended off a late-game surge from Philip Sternheimer during heads-up play to pair this title with his PLO Main Event win from Triton Montenegro last year.
A Masterclass Performance on the Big Stage
Tollerene entered the final table as the chip leader and maintained his composure against a line-up of elite talent. The final table featured heavy hitters such as Elton Tsang and the reigning GPI Player of the Year, Punnat Punsri.
Reflecting on his victory, Tollerene admitted to feeling the pressure of the trip. "I'm obviously very pleased, I had no cashes going into today on this trip so I was feeling not so great about how everything was going," he told Triton representatives.
He noted that competing against the best in the world motivates him to prove he belongs at the highest level of the game.
Foxen Secures Historic Payday and Record Scores
The event was equally significant for Kristen Foxen, who continued her phenomenal run on the Triton circuit.
The reigning GPI Female Player of the Year finished in 4th place, banking $1,449,000. This score represents a career-high for the Canadian star and marks her sixteenth cash with the brand.
Foxen provided one of the most talked-about moments of the tournament when she folded pocket kings preflop during nine-handed play.
Faced with a high-pressure ICM (Independent Chip Model) situation, her disciplined fold was eventually vindicated as she outlasted several opponents to climb from 6th in chips at the start of the day to her 4th-place finish.
