The opening day of Event #94: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em concluded with Kristen Foxen positioning herself near the top of the leaderboard. Foxen advanced from the starting field into the top five chip stacks as she continued her pursuit of a seventh career bracelet.
A total of 357 entries registered for the high-stakes short-handed tournament during the initial flights of play. By the time the chips were bagged at the end of Day 1, only 130 players remained in contention.
Kenzo Ishida emerged as the overall chip leader, accumulating a stack of 479,500. He is closely followed by Fahredin Mustafov in second place with 477,000 chips and Loic Debregeas in third with 475,000.
Armin Rezaei sits in fourth place with 426,000, rounding out the only players who managed to bag more chips than Foxen. Several prominent poker professionals also secured their spots for the next stage of competition.
Among the notable survivors are Faraz Jaka with 283,000 chips, Adrian Mateos with 215,000, and Erik Seidel with 180,000.
Paulina Loeliger advanced with 121,500, while Foxen's husband, Alex Foxen, also navigated the field to bag a stack of 82,000.
Not every high-profile entrant found success, however, as professional football player Neymar entered the field but was eliminated before the end of the day's action.
Sadly for Foxen, her run in this $10K event ended in a bust out at the end of Day 2 which saw Fahredin Mustafov bag the chip lead among survivors.
