The 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event officially drew 9,208 players, creating an $85,625,100 prize pool. Defending champion Michael Mizrachi and legend Phil Ivey advanced to Day 3.
The official numbers for the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event have been finalized following the closure of registration, locking in another year of massive attendance for poker's most prestigious annual tournament.
From 2006 through 2022, the tournament typically attracted fields ranging between 6,500 and 8,000 players. However, the event has now shifted into a new era, consistently surpassing 9,000 entrants each year.
While the 2026 turnout did not quite break the all-time record of 10,112 players set in 2024, the year Jonathan Tamayo became the world champion, it still ranks securely among the biggest fields ever assembled.
Last year, the 2025 field drew 9,735 entries, marking the third-most all-time and the first time since 2022 that the field did not crack the 10,000-player milestone.
Registration officially closed at approximately 3:45 p.m. PT on Monday during Day 2abc. When the final tallies were posted on the board, the 2026 WSOP Main Event field reached 9,208 players.
This turnout generated a massive total prize pool of $85,625,100, officially making this year's tournament the fourth-largest Main Event in the 57-year history of the WSOP.
The 2026 Main Event is drawing strong parallels to the 2025 tournament, highlighted by another huge field and a deep run by the reigning champion.
Michael Mizrachi, the defending champion, successfully bagged over 200,000 chips on Monday during the Day 2abc session. He will return to the felts with an above-average stack when play resumes.
