September Doesn’t Look Like a Break with OSS XL

Online poker would settle down since summer is grinding to a halt, right? While this might be true for some other poker rooms, WPN seems to have other plans. After closing out August with two Mystery Bounty Venom finales ($8 million in No Limit Holdem and $2 million in Pot Limit Omaha) they’re rolling directly into two new projects: the next edition of the Online Super Series XL, and an Online Day 1 entry into the Battle of Malta.

And as you'd expect, there’s not much breathing room on the schedule.

For anyone planning to play the Battle of Malta this year, there’s now a way to skip the local Day 1s and start live action already in the money. ACR Poker will host an Online Day 1 on Sunday, September 14, where players can qualify for Day 2 in Malta, held from November 2–5.

Players reaching the top 15% online won’t be paid until they check in onsite with valid ID. Their chip counts will be transferred, and they’ll begin Day 2 with a minimum cash locked in. The payout, approximately $900, is only handed out at the live event, and players cover their own travel and accommodation.

Satellites will run the same weekend, with $66 Mega Sats and lower-stakes feeders for those trying to qualify at a discount. But again, nothing’s paid out online—this is a delayed payday, location-dependent.

Running from September 7 to 30, OSS XL is back with another $50 million in total guarantees. The series includes everything from low-stakes flips to high-buy-in main events, with Day 1s clustered around the end of the month.

WPN is also bringing back its leaderboard competition, with $65,000 in additional prizes. The leaderboard payouts aren’t pulled from player pools—it’s a separate pool funded by the network.

Several Mystery Bounty multi-flight tournaments are included, alongside the tried and true formats and the $150K Survivor Flips starting mid-month.
