Event #64: $25,000 High Roller Mixed saw 140 entrants generate a $3,290,000 prize pool. Juha Helppi leads the 60 survivors into Day 2, alongside Daniel Negreanu.
The high-stakes action intensified at the World Series of Poker as Event #64: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha / No-Limit Hold'em Mixed officially got underway.
A stacked field of 140 entrants registered on the opening day of play, generating a substantial prize pool of $3,290,000.
By the time the chips were bagged at the end of the night, only 60 players successfully navigated the dual-discipline field to secure their spots for Day 2.
Sitting at the top of the chip counts is old school poker legend Juha Helppi, who captured the overnight chip lead with a stack of 926,000.
Helppi, who boasts over $10 million in recorded live tournament cashes, is well-positioned as he seeks to add a first WSOP bracelet to his career accolades.
Completing the top three spots on the leaderboard are Sergio Martinez Gonzalez with 751,000 chips and Naoya Kihara with 635,000 chips.
They are followed closely by a line-up of established poker professionals who made regular moves up the chip charts.
