Canadian poker veteran Eric Wasylenko has secured a dominant position in the WSOP Circuit Liechtenstein Main Event.

Advancing through the competitive Day 1a flight, Wasylenko bagged an impressive 362,000 chips, placing him sixth overall in the opening counts. The CHF 1,500 buy-in tournament drew a massive field, but Wasylenko's early performance has established him as a top contender for the gold ring.

Strong Opening Flight for the Canadian Pro

The initial starting flight attracted 109 entries, with only 17 players successfully navigating the 14 levels of play to reach Day 2.

While Austria’s Samuel Klocker claimed the overall chip lead with 796,000, Wasylenko remained firmly in the upper echelon of the leaderboard. His stack of 362,000 provides significant leverage as the field merges for the later stages of the competition.
Other notable stacks from the opening session include:
  • Martin Hoertnagl (627,000)
  • Florian Gehbauer (504,000)
  • Angelo Arossi (504,000)

A Massive Prize Pool in Liechtenstein

The tournament has exceeded expectations, growing to a total of 827 entries. This high turnout generated a staggering prize pool of CHF 1,071,792.

For Wasylenko, surviving the early onslaught with a top-tier stack is crucial for navigating the deep-money ladders of such a large international event.
