The 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary at Deerfoot Inn & Casino crowned new champions across diverse poker events. Below are the highlights from the event so far.
The 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary at Deerfoot Inn & Casino launched on October 1, uniting Canada’s top poker players for a thrilling series of tournaments.
Offering a dynamic mix of No-Limit Hold’em, PLO, and mixed game formats, the event’s first week delivered record-breaking attendance, fierce competition, and memorable victories.
2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary Event Results
Event #1: $400 Big 30 Stack NLH
The opening event drew 371 entries and built a $122,430 prize pool. Josh Molnar claimed his first WSOP Circuit ring and $26,288 top prize by overcoming Jacob Parent in a nail-biting heads-up duel, hitting a decisive ten on the flop with ace-ten against ace-queen.
Event #2: $600 NLH/PLO Mix
With 183 entries and a $94,245 prize pool, this double-format event saw Praba Siva outplay a strong final table to secure his second WSOP Circuit ring and $22,404.
Siva’s critical spade flush cracked Andy Truong’s pocket aces, cementing his reputation as a two-format standout.
Event #3: $400 NLH Black Chip Bounty
Attracting 345 entries, the Black Chip Bounty awarded $113,850 in total prizes, including $34,500 in bounties. Stephen Scuderi emerged as champion, besting Cindy Kerslake heads-up and earning his second circuit ring with a $17,383 payday.
Event #4: $400 NLH Mini Main Event
Nicholas Lee secured his fourth WSOP Circuit ring at WSOP-C Calgary, winning the Mini Main Event for $75,190. Lee’s victory marked his first title outside of January and his first instance of winning two rings within a single year. Previously, he claimed his first ring at the same venue in January 2023, followed by his second in January 2024, and his third earlier this year during the January 2025 series.
Event #5: $600 Mystery Bounty NLH
Quinn Kannekens claimed victory in Event #5: $600 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em at the WSOP Circuit Calgary, earning a total payout of $26,234.
The event concluded with an intense final hand where Kannekens secured the win through a decisive showdown against Moldovan. A total of 395 entries competed for the top prize with the prize pool resting at $203,425.
Event #6: $600 Mystery Bounty NLH
Generating $203,425 in prizes from 395 entries, this event was fast-paced and suspenseful. Quinn Kannekens seized his first circuit title, collecting $26,234 plus mystery bounty rewards through steadfast play and well-timed aggression.
Event #7: $400 NLH Seniors Event
A record 519 entries gathered for the Seniors Event, raising the prize pool to $171,270. After 18 hours of competitive action, Angelo Gambrelis emerged victorious, celebrating his largest career payday at $33,728.
Event #8: $800 T.O.R.S.E. (Mixed Games)
Ninety-five entrants battled across five mixed variants for $66,025 in prizes. Stephen Dauphinais triumphed after a 13-hour marathon, winning his first WSOP Circuit ring and $17,933—a fitting addition to his accomplished poker resume.
Event #9: NLH Side Event
Chris Potter captured his inaugural WSOP Circuit ring in his first series appearance, eliminating seven of the last eight final table opponents. As a prominent Die Hard Poker League member, he outperformed regular finalist Chris Caldwell to clinch the title in a dominant run.
