Ever wish Omaha had just a bit more chaos? Stake Poker seems to think so. The platform has just added 5-Card Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO5) to its sweepstakes-based poker lineup in the US — giving players one more card and a lot more possibilities.

The game sticks to the classic Omaha structure: two hole cards, three from the board, and the rest is strategy. But with five hole cards instead of four, you’re looking at more draws, more big hands, and yes, more swings. It’s been a hit among high-stakes players globally — and now, US players finally get their shot in the sweepstakes format.

Stake becomes only the second sweepstakes site in the US to offer PLO5, doubling down on its strategy to offer more than just Hold’em and four-card Omaha. 

According to a Stake Poker spokesperson, “PLO5 has a reputation for being wild, unpredictable, and incredibly fun. We’re excited to make that available to US players through our sweepstakes model.”
The addition follows a broader trend: online poker platforms are experimenting with formats once seen only in live rooms or international apps. Now, a variant like PLO5 — once rare in the US — is just a few clicks away.
