Monarch Sets New Triton Jeju Record With $12.7M Hand
Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju once again delivered headline-making action as Finnish high-stakes player Ossi “Monarch” Ketola captured what is now the largest livestreamed poker hand ever recorded, worth a staggering $12.7 million.
Pocket Nines vs. Pocket Eights
he record hand came during a heads-up rematch between Monarch and Hong Kong’s Bjorn Li. Stakes were set at $2,000,000 per match, with the final showdown carrying a combined $16 million on the line.
Monarch raised on the button with 9♣9♥, Li three-bet with 8♦8♥, and the Duel Casino owner shoved his $6.35M stack. Li made the call, creating the monumental $12.7M pot.
The board ran 6♠7♥10♥3♣2♠, keeping Monarch’s pocket nines ahead. Li was left short-stacked and eventually eliminated about 90 minutes later.
Monarch’s Triton Jeju Run
This wasn’t an isolated moment. Over just two weeks, Monarch has been at the center of multiple eight-figure pots at Triton Jeju, including a $10.99M clash with Alex Foxen and a roller coaster Heads Up series against Dan “Jungleman” Cates.
He hasn’t dominated every session, but his fearless approach and willingness to gamble at the highest stakes have ensured that nearly every Triton headline this month features his name.
Who´s the man?
Monarch’s $12.7M victory wasn’t an isolated moment. Despite some swings and tough sessions, he has emerged as one of the most visible players of Triton Jeju. With multiple record-setting pots and consistent involvement in the biggest matchups, the Finnish high roller has become a central figure of this Super High Roller stop.
