Kristen Foxen’s Modest Cash in WSOP 2025 Mystery Bounty Event
Kristen Foxen, a five-time WSOP bracelet winner, finished 43rd in the 2025 WSOP $10,000 Mystery Bounty, earning $17,506. Michal Wywrot, Alex Foxen, and Mike Matusow also cashed in the competitive field.
Kristen Foxen’s Modest Cash in WSOP 2025 Mystery Bounty Event
Kristen Foxen, a five-time WSOP bracelet winner and a celebrated figure in Canadian poker, finished 43rd in bracelet Event #11 at the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas. This was the $7,000 + $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty (8-Handed) at the 2025 World Series of Poker. For the cash, she earned a modest $17,506.
The event, held at Paris and Horseshoe Casinos in Las Vegas, drew 616 entries, according to Hendon Mob, creating a substantial prize pool with some big bounties. American poker player Yosef Fox claimed the bracelet, which was his first, and more than $700,000 in prize money.
Foxen’s result was less notable compared to her illustrious career, which boasts over $10.6 million in earnings. Her 2024 Women in Poker Hall of Fame induction underscores her status as a poker powerhouse, even with this quieter performance. Foxen's fans will be hoping that she sustains her normal high level of play in the weeks ahead.
Tough Competition and Tournament Challenges
Another Canadian, Michal Wywrot, a player not of significant poker fame, also cashed, finishing 46th for the same $17,506 payout. The tournament featured a stacked field, including other famous players like Foxen’s husband, Alex Foxen, and veteran pro Mike Matusow, both of whom also secured cashes. The presence of such high-caliber players highlights the event’s competitive nature, where even modest finishes reflect the challenge of navigating large, skilled fields.
Foxen’s 43rd-place finish illustrates the variance inherent in tournament poker, where even elite players can experience smaller payouts. Despite this modest result, Foxen’s consistency could produce a better result as the festival progresses.
