WSOPC Playground Montreal delivered a strong festival as multiple players captured their first WSOP Circuit rings across standout events. Deep fields, six figure prize pools and WSOP Paradise packages shaped a competitive series from November 3 to 19.

The WSOP Circuit Playground Montreal festival ran from November 3 to 19 with 18 ring events that featured large fields, strong guarantees and multiple first time winners. 

The early events delivered high participation and created significant prize pools across Mystery Bounty tournaments, Mini Main Event action, Progressive Knockouts, Mega Stack formats and marquee championship fields. 

Several players also secured the valuable USD 5,000 package to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas.

Taran Singh Parmar Ships No Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty

Event #6: CAD 400 No Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty attracted 726 entries and generated a CAD 250,470 prize pool which surpassed the CAD 200,000 guarantee. 

A total of 109 players advanced to Day 2. After a full day of eliminations and bounty draws, Taran Singh Parmar emerged as champion.
Parmar earned CAD 24,775 for the outright victory, nearly CAD 15,000 in bounties, and the USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package. 

The win marked his first WSOP Circuit ring and his most meaningful career score. He completed the event by defeating Gagandeep Singh heads up to close out an emotional return to the live scene.
Matthew Gearey Wins Mini Main Event For First WSOP Circuit Ring

Matthew Gearey Claims Mini Main

Event #1: CAD 400 No Limit Hold’em Mini Main Event opened the series with a 1,780 entry field. The prize pool climbed to CAD 614,100. Matthew Gearey secured the title for CAD 83,670, a USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package, and his first WSOP Circuit ring. Gearey travelled from Ottawa to play his first WSOP Circuit event and his first major live tournament in almost seven years. 

Abdul Ghafar Hayam Wins $400 Mega Stack

The $400 Mega Stack event crowned Abdul Ghafar Hayam as its winner for a sum of $17,029 and the USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package. Rene Majeau finished runner up for $11,160.

Sikander Rajwade Wins $400 PKO

Event #3: $400 Progressive Knockout drew 209 entries. The prize pool reached $46,690 with a $20,900 bounty prize pool. Sikander Rajwade earned his first Circuit Ring and $9,500. Bill Kontaratos also collected $9,500 for his second place finish.

Othman Koubaa Wins $400 Mystery Bounty

Event #4: $400 Mystery Bounty brought in 211 entries. Othman Koubaa claimed the top $5,000 bounty during the draw and later won the tournament for $11,791 plus bounties, along with his first WSOP Circuit ring and the USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package. Francis Chevalier finished second for $7,660.

Daniel Lafleur Wins $400 Bounty Event

Event #5: $400 Bounty attracted 225 entries. Daniel Lafleur defeated Anthony Casten heads up to win his first WSOP Circuit ring along with $12,386 plus bounties and the USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package.

Michael Hudson Wins Seniors Event

Event #8: $400 Seniors registered 195 entries and created a $64,350 prize pool. Michael Hudson won the title for $15,366, along with his first WSOP Circuit ring and the USD 5,000 package to WSOP Paradise. Hudson’s victory marked his second WSOP cash and his first since 2013, when he finished 16th in a $365 event in Gatineau for $1,000.  Benedetto Angeloni was runner-up for $10,090.

Danny Li Wins $400 Mega Stack Turbo

Event #8’s Seniors final was followed by the $400 Mega Stack Turbo. The event drew 390 entries. Danny Li outlasted the field to win $27,898, the WSOP Circuit ring and the WSOP Paradise package.
Li had previously finished fourth in a $400 Seniors Event in Toronto earlier in the year for $11,160. The second place was claimed by Thomas Clarke for a sum of $18,280.

Fenghua Cai Wins Event #9: $1,000 Colossus

Event #9: $1,000 Colossus concluded with Fenghua Cai defeating Griffin Benger heads up to secure his first WSOP Circuit ring, the USD 5,000 WSOP Paradise package and a $140,867 payout. Benger finished runner up for $93,900. Benger had a payday of $93,900.

WSOPC Playground November 2025

The WSOPC Playground Montreal series delivered a strong mix of deep fields, first time champions and high value prize pools across its opening events.
