WSOP Super Circuit Canada: Mini Main Takes Over at Playground
- WSOP Super Circuit Canada launched with over CA$14M in prize guarantees.

The inaugural WSOP Super Circuit Canada has moved into its second major tournament at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec, after Thursday brought both Day 2 of the opening CA$500 Super Circuit Kickoff and the first two starting flights of the CA$500 Mini Main Event.
The festival began Wednesday and runs through September 12, with 18 WSOP Circuit rings and more than CA$14 million in guaranteed prize pools. Thursday, August 27 marked the first day on which multiple ring events were active simultaneously.
However, there is an important reporting caveat heading into Friday.
Neither the official WSOP results page nor the other reliable public tournament databases checked Friday morning had yet published a verified winner, complete payout table or final field size for Event #1. The public WSOP page was still displaying zero entries and no winner, despite Day 2 having taken place Thursday.
CanadianPoker.com will therefore not manufacture a result while waiting for the official reporting systems to catch up.
Super Circuit Kickoff Reaches Day 2
Event #1, the CA$500 Super Circuit Kickoff, began Wednesday with two opening flights and a CA$150,000 guarantee.
Players received 30,000 starting chips and competed through 30-minute levels. Survivors from Flights A and B returned to Playground at noon Thursday for Day 2.
The schedule identifies Thursday as the concluding day of the tournament, meaning the first WSOP Super Circuit Canada ring should have been decided during the session.
What remains unavailable through the public sources is the information that matters most: the champion, final payout, total entries and complete final standings.
Until those numbers appear through WSOP, Playground or another source able to independently verify them, they should be considered unconfirmed.

Mini Main Event Opens With Two Flights
While the Kickoff played toward its conclusion, Event #2 began building what should be one of the largest early fields of the festival.
The CA$500 Mini Main Event carries a CA$500,000 guarantee and offers five starting flights between August 27 and August 29.
Flight A began at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Flight B following at 5 p.m.
Players begin with 40,000 chips and play 30-minute levels. Late registration for Flight A remained available until approximately 4:30 p.m., while Flight B registration extended into Thursday evening.
The official WSOP event page had not yet populated Thursday’s entry totals or advancing-player chip counts when checked Friday morning. As a result, there is currently no reliable public list of Flight A or Flight B survivors that CanadianPoker.com can reproduce without speculation.
That should change as the weekend progresses and the five starting flights are consolidated ahead of Day 2.
Two More Mini Main Flights on Friday
Friday, August 28 is devoted entirely to the Mini Main.
Flight C begins at 11 a.m. local time, with Flight D following at 5 p.m. A fifth and final starting flight is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m.
All surviving players then return Sunday, August 30 for Day 2.
The Mini Main structure gives players substantially more starting chips than the opening Kickoff while retaining 30-minute levels, making it an accessible multi-flight option before the larger buy-ins begin arriving next week.
Its CA$500,000 guarantee is also more than three times the guarantee attached to Event #1.
Mystery Bounty Joins the Schedule Saturday
Saturday brings another significant expansion of the Super Circuit schedule.
Event #3, the CA$1,000 Mystery Bounty, begins with Flight A at 4 p.m. and carries a CA$400,000 guarantee. Players receive 50,000 starting chips.
Flights B and C follow Sunday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., with Day 2 scheduled for Monday.
The CA$2,300 Canada Circuit Championship then begins August 31 with a CA$500,000 guarantee, followed shortly afterwards by the first PLO event and the CA$1,000 Progressive Bounty.
Everything ultimately builds toward the CA$5,000 Super Circuit Main Event beginning September 3.
That tournament carries a CA$10 million guarantee, making it the centrepiece of an unprecedented Canadian WSOP festival.
What to Watch Next at Playground
The immediate numbers to watch are Thursday’s Mini Main entry totals and the first official Day 2 chip counts.
Friday’s Flights C and D should provide a clearer indication of whether the CA$500 event is on track to comfortably clear its CA$500,000 guarantee before Saturday’s final flight.
The other missing piece is confirmation of Canada’s first Super Circuit champion.
The opening Kickoff has reached its scheduled conclusion, but until the official results systems publish a verified winner and payout information, CanadianPoker.com will treat those details as pending rather than filling the gap with unofficial information.
With more events joining the schedule from Saturday onward, the WSOP Super Circuit is becoming one of the biggest Canadian live poker tournaments of the year.
The festival also reinforces Playground's position as one of the most important destinations for live poker in Canada.
