Canadians Dominate WSOP Super Circuit Mini Main Ahead of Day 2
- CA$500 Mini Main draws 3,484 entries at Playground Poker.
- Top four chip leaders going into Day 2 are all Canadians.
- Brett Wordon leads with 1,600,000 chips.
The CA$500 Mini Main Event at the WSOP Super Circuit Canada has produced a massive 3,484 entries across five starting flights at Playground in Kahnawake, Quebec, with Canadian players occupying the top three positions among the reported chip leaders heading into Day 2.
Saturday's final Flight 1E was comfortably the largest of the tournament, attracting an extraordinary 1,359 entries on its own.
Canada's Brett Wordon emerged from the flight with 1,600,000 chips, moving ahead of every previously reported stack and taking the overall lead into Sunday's combined field.
He is followed by fellow Canadians Michael Nagle-Levy with 1,500,000 and Michael Malm with 1,400,000.
The result gives Canada a formidable presence at the top of the leaderboard as players return to Playground for Day 2.
Flight 1E Draws Massive 1,359 Entries
The Mini Main had already developed into one of the early success stories of the inaugural Canadian Super Circuit before Saturday's final flight.
The first four flights generated 2,125 entries. Flight 1E then added another 1,359, taking the tournament to 3,484 entries overall.
Wordon finished Saturday's session with 1,600,000 to become the new overall chip leader. Nagle-Levy was only 100,000 behind with 1,500,000, while Malm completed an all-Canadian top three with 1,400,000.
Malm is joined on 1,400,000 by another Canadian, Guoyan Li, who had previously led the tournament after bagging the biggest stack in Flight 1B.
That means four of the largest reported stacks entering Day 2 belong to Canadian players.

Canadians Control the Top of the Leaderboard
From a Canadian perspective, the Day 2 leaderboard could hardly look more promising.
Wordon sits on 1,600,000, followed by Nagle-Levy with 1,500,000. Malm and Li each hold 1,400,000.
American players Darrell Blodgett and Nicolas Theodorowicz, the respective Flight 1A and 1D leaders, are next among the previously confirmed flight leaders with 1,200,000 each.
Canada also produced the Flight 1C leader, with Dan Kashvin bagging 947,000.

Day 2 Begins Sunday at Playground
With all five flights finished, the Mini Main now moves into its decisive stage.
Day 2 is scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at Playground, bringing together survivors from all five starting flights. The official WSOP schedule confirms the Mini Main as Event #2 of the inaugural Canadian Super Circuit.
The tournament originally carried a CA$500,000 guarantee, but its 3,484 entries demonstrate the scale of demand surrounding the first WSOP Super Circuit Canada.
Attention will now turn to Wordon, Nagle-Levy, Malm, Li and the rest of the Canadian contingent as they attempt to keep the second ring of the series on home soil.
Sebastien Proulx has already ensured the first one stayed in Quebec by winning the opening CA$500 Super Circuit Kickoff for CA$56,000.
The Mini Main provides Canada with an excellent opportunity to make it two from two.
The enormous turnout also underlines the strength of live poker in Canada, with Playground once again demonstrating its ability to attract major fields for an international tournament series.
