WPF Ladies Weekend 2025
Poker’s landscape shifted last weekend as the WPF Ladies Weekend 2025 brought together thousands of women in a global celebration of the game. What made it historic wasn’t the prize pools or turnout (though those were impressive). It was the structure. Held simultaneously across 10 countries and 15+ cities, it marked the first time a women’s-only poker event went international, live, and synced.

The result? More than 2,200 entries, a new chapter for women’s events, and dozens of unforgettable local moments that rippled across the poker world.

From Texas to Taiwan

Unlike traditional poker festivals that center on a single venue, the WPF Ladies Weekend turned the globe into a tournament map.

Brazil led the way with 900+ entries at H2 Club São Paulo, drawing players from 15 states. The U.S. followed closely, with over 800 participants split across regional stops, including a massive turnout in Texas.

Belgium, Colombia, Canada, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Africa also hosted events, proving that enthusiasm for women’s poker stretches across cultures and continents.

Stars at the Tables and On the Sidelines

Poker royalty and rising stars gave the event an added layer of visibility and support.

Shiina Okamoto, who recently went back-to-back in the WSOP Ladies Event, visited the Taiwan stop, offering inspiration and encouragement.

PokerStars Team Pro Lauriê “Lali” Tournier competed in São Paulo, highlighting the power of Brazil’s female poker scene.

In Texas, Kasey Lyn Mills, already boasting three WSOP Circuit rings, turned up and cashed in, winning the event outright. That’s one way to make a statement.

A Platform and Not Just a Prize Pool

Beyond the cards, the Ladies Weekend planted a clear flag: poker is richer when it reflects the people playing it.

Panels in Colombia focused on representation and leadership, echoing the broader purpose of the WPF Women’s Committee: to not only grow the number of women in poker, but create sustainable career and community pathways.

As WPF Women’s Committee President Luana Borges noted:
It showed that women’s presence strengthens the game, builds community, and opens new opportunities for the entire industry.

After a successful debut on this scale, the committee is looking to expand in 2026 with more local stops, new partner countries, and possibly a Grand Final event bringing together local champions from across the map.
