Triple Comet Cup
January poker schedules tend to blur together. Same formats, same buy-ins, same rush to qualify before the clock runs out. Poker Planets' current lineup stands out not because it’s louder, but because it’s more modular. Players are given room to choose how they enter, how often they try, and how much risk they want to take on early.

That idea runs through both the returning Triple Comet Cup and the one-night Sun Lite Cup, two events that approach value from very different angles.

Three Ways to Reach One Final

The Triple Comet Cup is structured around three separate Day 1 paths, all feeding into a single final on January 25. Lite, Medium, and Classic versions differ in buy-in and advancement percentage, but not in destination.

Lite Day 1s cost $3.30 and move the top 5 percent forward. Medium entries are priced at $5.50 with 8 percent advancing. Classic flights, at $11, are the most forgiving, sending 16 percent of the field to the final. Each format runs multiple times per day between January 16 and January 24, with a final set of Day 1s on the morning of January 25.

Players who qualify more than once don’t stack entries together. Instead, only the biggest stack progresses.

What Awaits on January 25

The final begins at 16:30 CET on January 25 with a guaranteed prize pool starting at $5,000. All remaining players are already in the money, eliminating the usual bubble phase.

Sun Lite Cup Adds a Long-Term Angle

Sun Lite Cup

Running separately on January 17 at 17:30 CET, the Sun Lite Cup adds a different incentive. With a $2,500 guarantee and a Super Bounty setup where most of the prize pool is tied to knockouts, the tournament leans heavily into action.

The headline prize, however, isn’t paid immediately. The top three finishers receive 100 percent rakeback for a full month.
