Moneymaker Tour Thrills Kahnawake, Gears Up for Summer Stops

The Moneymaker Tour, led by 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker, concluded its inaugural Canadian stop at Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec, from May 7th to 20th, 2025. The now-completed festival marked the tour’s second international outing after Aruba in 2024.

It drew 5,670 entries, including 1,433 unique players, and awarded over CAD$2.45 million across 23 trophy events. Held south of Montreal, the series captivated players with its accessible buy-ins yet high-stakes excitement that was fueled by large-scale participation.

Main Event 2025 Numbers, Champion from Kahnawake

The CAD$1,150 Main Event, with a CAD$500,000 guarantee, drew 826 total entries, generating a CAD$826,000 prize pool. Feizal Satchu emerged as the champion, winning CAD$150,000 and the coveted Moneymaker Trophy after a remarkable comeback from just two big blinds with a few tables left.

Satchu is of the Toronto area, according to his profile at The Hendon Mob. He was the No. 327-ranked player on Canada's all-time money list. With his win in the Kahnawake Main Event, he will skyrocket over scores of other players as a $150,000 prize is a huge amount for outer players on these kinds of lists.
Looking ahead, the Moneymaker Tour is set to maintain its momentum with confirmed stops at
MGM Grand Las Vegas, Nevada (July 8th-14th, 2025), featuring a $1,500 Main Event with a $1 million guarantee, and a return to Aruba for the Caribbean Poker Series (September 18th-28th, 2025), with a $1,500 Main Event boasting a $500,000 guarantee. Discussions for a European stop in late 2025 or spring 2026 are underway, signaling the tour’s global ambitions.

Discussions for a European stop in the future are underway, signaling the tour’s global ambitions, but what's next for The Moneymaker Tour in Canada? If they are changing locations (ie. not duplicating a stop in Montreal) in order to promote in all regions, then you would think that Toronto or Vancouver would be next up for a Canadian stop, as those are the two largest metro areas in the country. However, news on Canada's next stop for the tour is pending.
