Canadian poker star Mike Watson finished sixth in the $50,000 Turbo Bounty Quattro at Triton Jeju II, earning $84,000 including bounties.
Canadian poker player Mike Watson secured a sixth-place finish in the $50,000 Turbo Bounty Quattro at the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II, earning $84,000 including bounty payouts.
The one-day event attracted 35 entries, with payouts confirmed for the final six players. Among the field were several major names, including Phil Ivey, Adrian Mateos and Mikita Badziakouski. Nine $60,000 bounty prizes were also available from the final table stage.
Watson entered the closing stages of the tournament and secured his place among the six players guaranteed a payout after Emilien Pitavy burst the stone bubble.
In the three-way all-in that determined the final six, Pitavy covered Watson, who tripled up, while Daniel Rezaei secured another bounty envelope. The result guaranteed Watson a cash and kept him in contention at the final table.
Rezaei held the chip lead entering the final six, with Ben Tollerene also among the leading stacks. The final-table line-up included Watson, Rezaei, Tollerene, Biao Ding, Eelis Parssinen and Tom Fuchs.
Watson's sixth-place result was worth $84,000, including bounty payouts. Tom Fuchs finished fifth for $169,000, while Eelis Parssinen took fourth for $139,000. Biao Ding finished third for $241,000.
After Watson's elimination, Tollerene continued through the final stages alongside Rezaei and Ding. Rezaei eliminated Ding in third place to set up heads-up play.
Rezaei started heads-up with approximately a 4:1 chip advantage over Tollerene. The American was all-in for his tournament life several times before doubling through Rezaei with six-five against queen-six, shifting the momentum of the match.
Tollerene collected $652,000 including bounties for first place, while Rezaei received $465,000 for second. The victory gave Tollerene his fifth Triton title.
For Watson, the sixth-place finish added another final-table result to the Triton Jeju II event, with his $84,000 payout coming from the $50,000 Turbo Bounty Quattro.
