The World Series of Poker has expanded its team, signing Joe Stapleton and David Williams exclusively. Additionally, broadcaster Jeff Platt has taken on an expanded dual host and producer role to help build brand content and enhance player engagement.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has significantly expanded its team by securing partnerships with three prominent industry figures. Award-winning poker broadcaster Jeff Platt has announced an expanded dual role as a host and a producer for the organization.
Additionally, recognizable poker personalities David Williams and Joe Stapleton have exclusively joined the WSOP team, marking a major shift in the poker media landscape.
Jeff Platt Takes on Expanded Hosting and Producing Role
Jeff Platt announced his expanded partnership with the WSOP via a post on X, stepping into a position designed to help build the brand. In his new capacity, Platt will have a direct hand in shaping brand content, with responsibilities centered on enhancing player engagement and improving the overall viewing experience for audiences.
Platt entered the poker industry from a sports journalism background and spent the better half of the past decade working with PokerGO. His extensive media experience also includes a previous stint as a co-host for the PokerNews Podcast.
Widely recognized for his tableside interviews and extensive commentary during the WSOP Main Event and various other tournaments, Platt is also an active player with $888,849 in career Hendon Mob earnings.
Speaking to PokerNews about the announcement, Platt expressed genuine appreciation for the opportunity. He noted that the partnership has developed to a level that satisfies all parties involved, adding that having a voice in shaping content and the brand is a significant honor within the business. The expansion comes after the WSOP was purchased by GGPoker in 2024.
David Williams and Joe Stapleton Sign Exclusively
The growth of the WSOP lineup extends well beyond Platt's creative duties. David Williams, a prominent poker personality who has been a recognizable part of poker history for decades, is officially moving into a new position with the organization. Williams has exclusively joined the WSOP team, representing another notable addition to the brand.
Furthermore, veteran broadcaster Joe Stapleton has joined forces with the WSOP, concluding his 15-year broadcasting partnership with PokerStars. The news was revealed on the WSOP Twitter handle, where Stapleton joked about his retirement lasting for only a day.
With Jeff Platt taking on creative and hosting duties to bridge the gap between players and the organization, alongside the exclusive additions of David Williams and Joe Stapleton, the WSOP continues to build its team with established industry figures.
