Wadhwani's €95K Run Tops Canadian Cashes at EPT Barcelona 2026

Canadian players have found plenty of spots on the payout sheets at EPT Barcelona 2026, and several of those runs have gone well beyond a min-cash.

The festival, running August 16–29 at Casino Barcelona, has again produced some of the biggest fields of the European Poker Tour season. The €1,650 PokerStars Open drew 4,333 entries for a €6.24 million prize pool, while the €5,300 EPT Main Event attracted 1,823 entries and generated €8.84 million.

With the festival entering its final stretch, Sanjaya Wadhwani owns the biggest confirmed Canadian payout so far, while Jacob Brickman, Alexandre Fournier, Parker Talbot and Mark Radoja have also put together notable results.

Sanjaya Wadhwani Leads Canada With €95,360 Score

Sanjaya Wadhwani came closest among the featured Canadians to turning a Barcelona run into a trophy.

Wadhwani reached the final table of the €2,700 EPT Second Chance, an 844-entry tournament with a €2,046,700 prize pool. He was still third in chips with seven players remaining before eventually finishing fifth for €95,360.

Scott Margereson went on to win the tournament for €361,060, with Natasha Mercier and Cherish Andrews also finishing ahead of Wadhwani.

The fifth-place finish is comfortably the largest Canadian payout among the completed results covered here and put Wadhwani within touching distance of a six-figure score.

Jacob Brickman Comes One Place Short of a Barcelona Title

Jacob Brickman produced another Canadian final-table appearance in the €1,050 NLH Hyper Turbo Freezeout.

The one-day tournament attracted 275 entries and generated a €264,000 prize pool. Brickman made it all the way to heads-up play before Finland's Jari Nikunlassi took the title. Second place was worth €40,240 to the Canadian.

Brickman later added another cash in the €1,050 NLH Hyper Turbo Freezeout held on August 26, finishing 34th for €2,250. That brings his confirmed Barcelona payouts from the two events to €42,490.

Alexandre Fournier Puts Together Three Cashes

Alexandre Fournier did not make a final table, but his consistency across three sizeable fields gave him one of the better overall Canadian festivals.

His first result came in the €1,650 PokerStars Open, where he finished 643rd for €2,520 in a field of 4,333 entries.

Fournier then went considerably deeper in the €2,700 PokerStars Open High Roller. That tournament drew 1,551 entries and generated €3,761,175, with Fournier finishing 51st for €10,460.

His best payout arrived in the €3,250 EPT Mystery Bounty. Fournier placed 30th, receiving €8,520 from the regular prize pool and another €9,000 in bounties for a total return of €17,520. The event attracted 1,027 entries and had €2,988,570 available when the bounty pool was included.

Across those three finishes, Fournier collected €30,500.

Mark Radoja Records Three Barcelona Cashes

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Mark Radoja may not have produced Canada's largest individual score in Barcelona, but he made the payout sheet three times.

Radoja's first cash came in the enormous PokerStars Open Main Event, where he placed 185th for €5,860.

He then made the money in the €2,700 PokerStars Open High Roller, finishing 147th for another €5,200. The High Roller attracted 1,551 entries and played for more than €3.76 million.

A third result followed in the €1,100 NLH Freezeout, with Radoja collecting €1,920 for 61st place.

Combined, the three results were worth €12,980.
