Eric Blair Wins Two Events at 2025 PGT PokerGO Cup
- Eric Blair won two events at 2025 PokerGO Cup, dominating the scene.
- Blair's victories earned him a total of over $600,000.
- American players were the standout performers throughout the series.
Over the last week, Eric Blair won two events as Americans dominated the 2025 PokerGO Cup in Las Vegas.
Eric Blair was the only multi-event winner at the recently completed 2025 PGT PokerGO Cup.
The American poker player won events No. 4 and No. 6, taking prizes of $254,800 and $352,350 respectively.
He also had a 10th-placed finish in Event #7, a tournament that Canadian player Kristen Foxen won. Blair now ranks 364th on America's All-Time Moneylist.
Eric Blair on the Radar
It's not unusual for a relatively unknown player to win a poker event, even one with a decent buy-in. However, winning two in a matter of days is a different matter.
I think poker fans will be paying some attention to Blair to see if he will be a factor in some of the bigger events in the 2025 season.
He has had a spike to start the season, relative to 2024. In January, Blair finished 4th in an event at the 2025 PGT Kickoff.
If you look through his entire year of results in 2024, you do not see any noteworthy results. For any other first-placed result, you have to go back to April 2019 and that was only a win in a $1,020 + 80 event in The Wynn Signature Series for a $35,146 payday.
Stringing together two top prizes in a matter of days suggests that Blair recently found a weakness in his game and addressed it.
If he is going to break onto the poker scene in 2025 in a big way, there might be some search engine confusion with this player.
His name is "Eric Blair" and, as any fan of novels will tell you, that was the real name of English novelist George Orwell.
At present, if you type in "Eric Blair" into Google, you will see the creator of Big Brother staring right back at you. So be sure to add the keyword "poker" to "Eric Blair" to differentiate from the man who coined the phrase "Down With Big Brother."
I'm not sure if Eric Blair, the poker player, has a nickname. However, if he doesn't then "Animal Farm" or "1984" should work.
Also, it wouldn't hurt for him to sport a hat at the poker table with some ominous eyes staring out at the field of competitors with the caption "Big Brother is Watching You."
Other Players Winning at the 2025 PGT PokerGo Cup
American players dominated the 2025 PokerGO Cup. All of the events were No Limit Hold'em with buy-ins ranging from $5000 + 100 to $25,000 + 200.
Event #1 ($5000 + 100): Michael Moncek (USA)
Event #2 ($10,000 + 100): Joey Weissman (USA)
Event #3 ($10,000 + 100): Adam Hendrix (USA)
Event #4 ($10,000 + 100): Eric Blair (USA)
Event #5 ($10,000 + 100): Sergio Aido (Spain)
Event #6 ($10,000 + 100): Eric Blair (USA)
Event #7 ($10,000 + 100): Kristen Foxen (Canada)
Event #8 ($25,000 + 200): Justin Zaki (USA)
In the upcoming week, there's not a lot going on for live poker. However, there is an event running in Tallinn (sounds like "All in"), Estonia called "Kings of Tallinn 2025."
Results will start coming in for the warm-up events soon. The main event will be running in early March.
