Playground Poker Club Hosts Moneymaker Tour, Builds on Recent Success

Kahnawake’s Playground Poker Club, located near Montreal, is hosting the Moneymaker Tour from May 7th–20th, 2025 (ie. events are currently running as of May 8th), as shared in @PlaygroundPoker X posts. The 23-event festival, offering over CAD$1.4M in guaranteed prize pools, features the CAD$1,150 Main Event (CAD$500K GTD) and the CAD$300 Mega Stack (CAD$250K GTD), the latter of which has seven starting flights.

On May 8th, players will compete in the Mega Stack’s Day 1A and 1B, plus a $300 Mystery Bounty with a CAD$25,000 guarantee. Poker legend Chris Moneymaker hosts a Meet-Up Game on May 17th, attracting players from Canada and beyond. Full event details are available at Playground's website.

Moneymaker won the 2003 Main Event at the World Series of Poker. In doing so, he highlighted the common man's ability to become famous through poker as he started on his path to the world title with a cheap satellite seat. His legacy, known as The Moneymaker Effect, remains intact today as the poker world is full of dreamers who want to experience the same success.

Playground also qualified Industry Staff Satellite winners to the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas for the $500 Industry Employees No-Limit Hold’em event, covering buy-ins and travel, per @PlaygroundPoker posts.

Last month, Playground hosted a larger poker festival, one that came before the WSOP Circuit event in Toronto. The club’s ability to pull in players for such events highlights its growing reputation, as noted on X.
